The Album
This is the third part of the OPVS NOIR trilogy and their twelfth studio album overall. It was released on April 10, 2026.
My previous OPVS NOIR albums reviews:
Vol. 1: https://metalbere.com/dark-elegance-with-lord-of-the-lost-opvs-noir-vol-1-album-review/
Vol. 2: https://metalbere.com/the-trilogy-continues-with-lord-of-the-lost-opvs-noir-vol-2-album-review/
The Songs
1. Kill The Lights. The opening track starts quite somber with cello melodies. Then the instruments drop, and the dark atmosphere settles in.
2. I’m A Diamond (feat. Saltatio Mortis). Here they play with the German folk band, Saltatio Mortis, and their singer Alea der Bescheidene. The song has a pop-rock vibe, with a nice keyboard solo.
3. My Funeral. I love the keys that provide a mood similar to a Tim Burton movie. Also, this has a Johnny Cash reference regarding wearing black, which I appreciated.
4. I Hate People (feat. Wednesday 13). The American singer Wednesday 13, mostly known for his horror punk band Murderdolls, infuses an industrial, electronic style into the song, resulting in a catchy track with a good guitar solo.
It has a message against haters such as racists and homophobic people.
5. The Shadows Within. It begins really pretty with a soft piano and Chris singing. It has a grandiose chorus. Nice guitar work.
6. La Vie Est Hell (feat. Hannes Braun). The former singer of the German metal band Kissin’ Dynamite, Hannes Braun, adds his voice here. The song starts with a lovely choir.
Most of the lyrics are in French, and it has a melancholic, depressive, but gorgeous tone. This has an explanation, because it is based on the poetry book Les Fleurs du mal by Charles Baudelaire.
7. Square One. It has an 80’s style, even the guitar riffs are very 80’s hard rock, and also great keys during the whole song. This is my favorite track on this album.
8. When Did The Love Break? (feat. Xandria ). The German symphonic metal band Xandria and their Greek singer Ambre Vourvahis, with her smooth voice joins LOTL in this breakup song, power ballad. Charming guitar solo.
9. Your Love Is Colder Than Death. Great track, about toxic love. It has my favorite guitar solo on this album.
10. Take Me Far Away (feat. Damien Edwards). The British singer, Damien Edwards, of the band Cats in Space, sings. I liked his voice. Fine song.
11. The Days of our Lives. The last track of the album. Emotional, epic, stunning, gothic. This would be ideal as a song to end a movie, so it is perfect to end this album and the trilogy itself.
Final Thoughts
This is the last part of the OPVS NOIR trilogy, cinematic, dark, and elegant.
The band invites great musicians to collaborate on their three albums.
The three parts have songs that have the potential to become LOTL classics.
I’m very pleased with this volume and the trilogy in total. Marvellous work.
