Iron Maiden, the British heavy metal legends formed in 1975, create a magical moment at every concert.
Every time we attend an Iron Maiden show, since 2000, the intro song is Doctor Doctor by UFO, and it sounds loud on the speakers, accompanied by all the crowd singing every word while jumping and raising their arms, preparing for The Beast’s entrance, the main course that is soon about to start. One of the most iconic intros to a band’s concert.

Doctor Doctor

In my opinion, this song is a lucky charm for Iron Maiden, and I can’t even imagine a concert of theirs without their classic intro. I’ve seen them playing live 11 times so far, and Doctor Doctor is always a very exciting moment in which I sing my heart out as the anxiety and emotion rises waiting for what’s coming… (in my case): my dearest band.
My favorite version of Doctor Doctor is the live recording from the 1979 album Strangers in the Night, which captures the soul and emotion of a live moment, something that is rarely replicated on a studio album.
Iron Maiden is currently doing their Run For Your Lives World Tour, which celebrates the band’s 50th anniversary. I saw this tour twice last year, and of course, Doctor Doctor was the opening to those amazing shows. I hope it will remain that way for the rest of their career, because there’s no better intro for them and to their world and the incredible experience the crowd is going to live.
