The Documentary
A journey through the history of one of the most iconic heavy metal bands, spanning more than 50 years, with interviews of the members of the band and also other musicians like Chuck D, Lars Ulrich, Scott Ian, among others, plus fans’ impressions and how much they mean to them.
The voices of Iron Maiden members and short excerpts from their old interviews, music videos, and live shows tell the band’s story along the timeline, also revealing the current situation of the band and their hopes for the future.
In this documentary, we see how Iron Maiden achieved success and all they have accomplished, despite lacking a radio presence (at least in the beginning) and social media or the Internet.
Burning Ambition is a great celebration of the band, very exciting, especially for a die-hard fan like myself.
The movie is shown in May in cinemas around the world. I went to Cine Yelmo Ideal in Madrid on May 15. It was a small room, and we were just a few people, which was a little disappointing for me. But the movie was projected in 14 cinemas in Madrid, so I think it’s ok. Besides, it was good for me because there was no one blocking my view or talking during the movie.
Whether you’re a fan or not, I recommend that you watch it, since they’re one of the biggest bands still around.
If you can’t see the movie on cinema, and although the band hasn’t confirmed it yet, I guess they will be releasing the documentary on DVD or Blu-ray soon, so stay tuned for that.
