The Songs

 

1.TANZNEID. The title track is super catchy, hard, and inviting to the dance floor, but with some headbanging in the mix too.

 

2. RATATATA by BABYMETAL & Electric Callboy. More than two years after its release, this single is a spectacular collaboration between the Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal and the German electronic metal music band Electric Callboy.

3. Hypercharged (Damian Menu Theme) by Electric Callboy & Brawl Stars. This song is for the video game Brawl Stars. Great track.

 

4. Let the Good Times Roll (Ft. Dexter Holland). Featuring the singer from The Offspring. One of my favorite tracks on this album, which I wasn’t familiar with before, has a happy vibe. I imagine it as a summer song.

 

5. Elevator Operator. This song is perfect for gym training.

Based on their tour manager, TankTheTech, this is about the band’s experience with the House of Blues venue in Chicago, which has an elevator operator, Moss, with whom Electric Callboy had a good experience.

 

6. Heartclub. This is the heaviest song on the album; at least it starts very heavy and even has some bleghs, although it also has its melodic parts.

 

7. The Way You Are. It passes for a cool boy band song like The Backstreet Boys until the second verse, when it turns into a deathcore tune before returning to a sweeter vibe in the final chorus.

 

8. Still Waiting (Ft. Frank Zummo). A Sum 41 song. Frank Zumo was their drummer, and now he’s in Electric Callboy.

Nice pop-punk song; I was never a Sum 41 fan, so I didn’t know it.

It’s a cover by Electric Callboy, so it has that metalcore vibe and harsh vocals—nice.

 

9. The Savior. Great guitar riff in the beginning.

 

10. Revery. I love this song. It’s about the dream world, but from the dark side of it.

 

11. We Got the Moves (Sullivan King remix). A remix of one of their biggest hits. I prefer the original because this one is too techno.

 

12. TANZNEID (Paolo Ferrara remix). Also very techno, good for a party, but I prefer the original, which is more of a song, not just a loud, repetitive beat.

 

13. Hypercharged (Paul Elstak remix). I don’t like this version either, although I imagine it would be perfect at a party or rave.

 

14. Revery (Sullivan King remix). It started slow and kind of muddy, which gave it a more shadowy vibe, but then it became very techno, which kind of ruins the song’s feel. I understand they really like this EDM style, but the songs already have plenty of it. For me, it’s just enough without adding more remixes. But anyway, that’s my opinion, since I generally don’t like electronic music except for a few exceptions.

 

Final Thoughts

 

Although I already knew most of the songs, I really liked this album.

I’ve always appreciated that they add humor to their music, something the world so desperately needs these days, and besides, these are songs for dancing and headbanging—what could be better?
