The Album

Unzucht’s seventh studio album, Neon Dom, was released on May 15, 2026.  This new work is dark, somber, and heavy, and it is their new vocalist, Timm Hindorff’s, first album with the band.

The Songs

1. Katharsis. The opening track starts with a good riff. It’s catchy, powerful, and the synths add a great element that soothes the hardness of the track.

2. Neon Dom. The title track addresses the technology crisis and the current conflict we’re facing between technology and humans. It has an industrial feel provided by metallic sounds.

3. Feuerregen (Fire Rain). This song has an 80’s pop vibe that I love, like old synth wave. Good bass lines. It’s one of my favorites on this album.

4. Krieger (Warrior). Sick beginning, with an infectious guitar riff that lingers on.

5. Chaos. As it names suggests, obviously it had to be hard, yet it also has a prominent synth. Catchy chorus.

6. Nie mehr zurück (Never Going Back). A soulful, nice ballad that focuses on vocals and guitar.

7. 1000 Scherben (1000 Fragments). Guitar riffs and the energy are very 80’s, so it’s one of my favorites, too.

8. Gegen die Zeit (Against Time). It starts pounding and then transforms into a kind of power metal song, featuring synths in the background, bass at the forefront, an anthemic chorus, and a killer breakdown, perfect for headbanging.

9. Koloss (Giant). Industrial with metallic sounds on the back. It has an epic aura.

10. Apokalypsis. A super fast-paced track. The drums are killing it.

11. Nachtschatten 1 (Nightshade). The first part. It begins as a ballad, soft and mellow, accompanied by a beautiful piano.

12. Nachtschatten 2. The second part, and also the last song on the album, begins strongly, very contrasting with the first part. Short. It has the chorus of the previous one, yet in a grandiose form.

Final Thoughts

This new Unzucht album is an excellent work that mixes a lot of synths with hard, low guitar riffs and raspy vocals with lyrics about internal struggles, yet always seeking hope at the same time.

There are no boring moments. I’m glad to hear where this band is going.
