RIP C.J. Snare – Reach for the Sky

Sad news in the world of music. The singer of the American hard rock / glam metal band, FireHouse, Carl “C.J.” Snare, died on April 5th, 2024. Today, it was announced to the public. He was battling colon cancer and was waiting to undergo a new surgery so he would be able to return to touring with his band, which sadly didn’t occur. He was 64 years old.

FireHouse has many hits such as All She Wrote and Don’t Treat Me Bad, and they continued touring until 2023, when C.J. had to take a break from the band to take care of his health. He was replaced by Nate Peck.

I was privileged to see the band play with Winger in Fort Myers, Florida, in 2019. It was an unforgettable show for any glam fan like me.

My favorite album from them is their self-titled album, from 1990. It’s a hard rock masterpiece, filled with classics like Oughta Be a Law.

So, the only thing left to say is that just as your FireHouse song, Reach for the Sky, C.J.!, go to Rock and Roll heaven, and thanks for the music.
