The Album

Never Enough is Turnstile’s fourth studio album. It was released on June 6, 2025. The album is accompanied by a film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, later in theaters, and will then be uploaded to YouTube.

The Songs

1. Never Enough. This was the first single on this album and is also the opening track. Synth, dreamy, ambient.

Nice song, it has a 90s nostalgic vibe. Sweet guitar solo. Some marine sounds, like seagulls, are peaceful.

In the last part, they play the notes of the next song, a cool transition that hypes you up for the next, especially the next being so hard and heavy in comparison to this one.

2. Sole. More on the hardcore side. Psychedelic keyboards solo takes the place of the breakdown.

About the fact that being alone is sometimes better than being with someone who isn’t a fit.

3. I Care. Upbeat, happy song, but in reality, is about a breakup.

4. Dreaming. Also hardcore, but it has trumpet and saxophone.

5. Light Design. Nice, it has a psychedelic, dreamy sound and loop effects.

6. Dull. The guitar riff reminds me of their song Holiday.

7. Sunshower. Hardcore, fast. I can imagine this song will be one of the highs on their shows, great for moshing.
The second part is an instrumental with flute, synth, and nature sounds. Ideal for people to calm down.

8. Look Out For Me. Hard rock guitar riff that resembles Rage Against The Machine. The singing parts are very trippy, I guess that is a guitar effect of a delay loop. Then is left only to Brendan singing with an echo and a piano. For the outro, spoken words by the American rapper and actor Maestro Harrell, who says lines from his show The Wire.

9. Ceiling. It comes after their longest track so far, which lasts almost 7 minutes, and this one is 1.13, dreamy, and sludgy. It’s like a transition interlude.

10. Seein’ Stars. It begins with a guitar. Very 80s. I loved it from the first moment. Danceable, synthwave. Good guitar solo.
Paramore’s Hayley Williams is the female background vocalist.

11. Birds. Hardcore, fast, energetic, and catchy. Slow and heavy breakdown, also great for the pit.

The video combines a bit of Seeing’ Stars and Birds and is perfect since Seeing’ Stars is very calm, and then to finish, a small taste of the chaotic Birds.

12. Slowdive. Slow, sludgy, yet I like the solid, massive guitar riff. Grand breakdown, I love the building up to it.

13. Time is Happening. Sad. Devastating lyrics about how time passes by and everything finishes, but with an upbeat tone, musically at least.

14. Magic Man. Piano and Brendan singing, church vibes. The last song on the album.

Final Thoughts

This album is like a continuation of their previous work, Glow On (2021). The album with which I got to know them, thanks to the song Holiday, my favorite Turnstile track to date.

Indie soothing dreampop, shoegaze moments, perfect for a summer road trip that gets interrupted by crazy hardcore tracks, as well.

Great guitar riffs and distinctive bass lines. Drumming is insane, especially in songs like Birds. Keys and synths also stand out.

An important element in Turnstile is aesthetic. Videos and their visuals are beautiful and cinematographic. I love the vintage look.

This album has many perfect songs for a live show, so I can only imagine how crazy their shows are going to be. Great work.
