Just heard the news of Jeff Beck’s passing, one of the best guitarists that were still alive, a legend of his own.
He died of Bacterial Meningitis on January 10th 2023 at the age of 78 years old.
English lead guitarist, he started his musical career with the supergroup The Yardbirds and then formed his own band The Jeff Beck Group.
He dedicated himself to blues, rock, and jazz, with great precision and emotion.
Throughout his life, he collaborated with many other artists and projects being my favorite the song he recorded with Rod Stewart, People Get Ready, beautiful lyrics, and a song filled with emotion crowned with a delightful guitar solo. This song talks about faith, and that when your time has come, to take the final train to Eternity, you don’t need anything, no baggage, just your faith, to get on board. Although I liked his work in general, that song always has had a place in my heart because it brings me back to childhood memories, listening to that song and watching the video with my family, and now that I know what the lyrics stand for, it has a bigger meaning for me and will always remain on my emotional memory.
