My Top 10 Party Rock Songs – Glam Edition

With summer approaching (at least in this part of the world), I wanted to write a list of my top 10 favorite rock party songs. While these songs are mostly from the ’80s, they are timeless and have become anthems for a good time. Almost all of them belong to a genre called Glam Rock, Glam Metal, or Hair Metal, which began in the late 70s. This is one of my favorite subgenres in music because it is positive, it puts me in a good mood, and musically it is usually very technical. Especially on the guitar, which is in some cases exaggerated, but that’s what I like.

The Songs

Motley Crue – Girls, Girls, Girls

The Los Angeles band were the kings of 80s hair metal and with this party anthem from the album of the same title, you can never go wrong when you want to have a good time.

Def Leppard – Pour Some Sugar On Me

Hysteria (1987), is one of the most successful albums of the hard rock English band, Def Leppard. This song is part of this album, becoming one of the most recognizable tracks of their career.

WASP – Wild Child

The bad boys of glam typically had explicit lyrics and naughty visuals as their image. This song is a classic, in general, for every rock fan.

Kiss – Rock & Roll All Nite

A list of party songs cannot be completed without this Kiss song. They have so much good-time music, but this one is essential.

Poison – Nothin’ But A Good Time

The cliché glam band. Many people made and still make fun of them, but they had great tracks and great musicians in the band, like their guitarist, C.C. DeVille.

Warrant – Cherry Pie

This is one of the greatest hits of the L.A. band. It had all the glam elements, the skilled musicians, a blond male singer, a catchy song, and the model Bobbie Brown, who then became the wife of their late singer, Jani Lane.

Slaughter – Up All Night

In 1988, Slaughter, a hard rock band from Las Vegas, appeared. They were one of the last glam bands before Grunge took over the music industry completely.

Buckcherry – It’s A Party

This American band came on the scene a little late (mid-90s), but either way, they have some great songs, like this one.

Bon Jovi – You Give Love A Bad Name

One of the most important bands to emerge from this genre, stand the test of time, and still play, are the New Jersey boys, Bon Jovi.

Joan Jett – I Love Rock & Roll

American rock singer and guitarist, founder of the all-female rock band The Runaways. She has been described as The Queen of Rock & Roll.
