As I said in the previous posts, the drummers are the heart and soul of the band, they carry the rhythm (along with the bassists).
Here are some of my favorite drummers (in no particular order).
1. Neil Peart. The best drummer of all time, in my opinion. He was Rush’s drummer.
2. Mike Portnoy. This talented drummer has played with many bands but he is most known for being in Dream Theater. Although he was outside this band for a while, he has recently reunited with the progressive band and now they’re working on new music and a new tour.
3. Bill Bruford. Progressive rock drummer who was part of bands like Yes, King Crimson, and Genesis.
4. II. Although there are rumors about his identity, we don’t know for sure who the talented Sleep Token’s drummer is.
5. Clive Burr. Late Iron Maiden’s drummer.
6. Keith Moon. The super crazy and energetic The Who’s drummer has been and still is an inspiration for many drummers.
7. John Bonham. The legendary Led Zeppelin’s drummer.
8. Dave Lombardo. Metal drummer who has played with bands like Slayer, Testament, and Suicidal Tendencies.
9. Tommy Aldridge. Skilled drummer who played with Ozzy Osbourne, and Thin Lizzy, and still is playing for many years with Whitesnake.
10. Tommy Lee. I’m an 80s glam metal girl, I can’t help it, so I included in this list Mötley Crüe’s drummer, Tommy Lee.
