Movistar Arena
Tanzneid World Tour
Opening bands: Bury Tomorrow and Wargasm UK
I almost didn’t make it to this show because I had to travel to Madrid to see the show, and there was a snowstorm. I travelled by bus, and some roads were closed, but luckily everything went down ok in the end.
I arrived at Movistar Arena at 20.22 and Bury Tomorrow were playing, the second opening band, a British metalcore band, they were ok. I couldn’t see Wargasm, the first opener.
There were a lot of older people and kids (with their parents) at the show, which surprised me positively, because Electric Callboy’s music is loud and heavy, especially the breakdown parts. It gets your attention first with the techno and pop parts and then melts your face with the metalcore breaks and pig squeals.
Bury Tomorrow’s show ended at 20.42 and Electric Callboy started at 21.15.
Electric Callboy
Electric Callboy (formerly Eskimo Callboy) is a German electronicore band formed in 2010. The genre consists of a fusion of metalcore music with elements of various electronic music genres. They mix heavy music, metal, and electronic with fun videos and aesthetics. Their lyrics are usually about parties, drinking, and funny stuff.
Band members
- Kevin Ratajczak – lead vocals, keyboards, programming
- Nico Sallach – lead vocals
- Daniel Haniß – lead guitar
- Pascal Schillo – rhythm guitar
- Daniel Klossek – bass
- Frank Zummo – drums
Their current drummer, Zummo, replaced their previous drummer when he fell sick in 2024, and following his departure, he continued playing with the band.

The Show
Their show started with TANZNEID, their latest release, and Still Waiting (Sum 41 cover). From that first song, everyone went crazy, everyone jumped, sang, and danced every song, not only the pit, but the seated area too.
They continued with 3 big hits: Tekkno Train, Hypa Hypa, and MC Thunder.
A calmer moment with Neon, and then back to energy with Pump It, for which they were dressed as 80s gym buddies, just like in the video.
Nico and Kevin explained the term “schlager” in German (they talk a lot in between songs), which is a pop cheesy kind of music very popular in Germany, and they sang a bit of Hurrikan, which is in German and schlager. The Electric Bassboy (the bassist Daniel Klossek) plays a DJ set, then the band returns and does a bit of Blink-182’s All the Small Things and Drowning Pool’s Bodies, but all as an electronic mix.
Another recent hit is the melodic and catchy Revery, which was followed by Hate/Love and another great song, Mindreader.

They proceeded to play the second mix of songs, Monsieur Moustache vs. Clitcat / Muffin Purper-Gurk / We Are the Mess / Crystals (Medley). After that, Zummo did a Drum Solo as a digital robot did the same on the central screen.
Kevin, with an acoustic guitar, and Nick went to the center of the pit, and they sang Fuckboi. Then Maggie Reilly’s Everytime We Touch, also acoustic, the first part, and then they continued it with the band back on stage.
The last two songs were two popular tracks, MC Thunder II (Dancing Like a Ninja) and the recent release Elevator Operator.
They left for a couple of minutes and returned to the encore that started with RATATATA (BABYMETAL × Electric Callboy song) with the BABYMETAL audio parts as they were projected on the screen, first their images and then only their silhouettes.
Next, one of my favorites, Spaceman, and they finished with all the craziness of one of their biggest hits, We Got the Moves.
It all went out fast, they ended at 23.00 with María by Ricky Martin sounding on the speakers as they said goodbye to the crowd.
They had a lot of pyro during the songs, and they changed their outfits and wigs according to each song. The show was amazing, super fun, high intensity, they really put on a hell of a party, I loved it.
