The Band
HEALTH is an American industrial/noise rock band formed in 2005. They also make music for video games.

The Album
The band released their sixth studio album CONFLICT DLC on December 11, 2025. The name is a reference to downloadable content in video games. It’s a continuation of their previous album RAT WARS (2023), yet it’s more aggressive.
The Songs
1. ORDINARY LOSS. It’s a single. The first song on this album starts ethereal, dreamy, and distant with Jake’s voice in the intro, but then the instruments make a dense mass.
Fear of the death of our loved ones. It ends with unsettling screams.
2. BURN THE CANDLES. Pounding electronics that collide with soft and calm Jake’s voice.
Relationship problems. The other part wants to leave.
3. VIBE COP. Single. Heavier, rockier, and a breakdown at the end with an acoustic guitar. I love it.
Talks about following your dreams while you keep them to yourself.
4. TRASH DECADE. Very industrial, yet catchy. I like it a lot. According to Johnny, it has a modern metalcore influence.
Fear of living without the person they love.
5. TORTURE II. Instrumental. Beautiful melody with a sad undertone. TORTURE I is on the Max Payne 3 video game soundtrack that they did.
6. ANTIDOTE. Single. It follows the sweet, melancholic vibe of the previous track.
7. DARKAGE. One of my favorite tracks on the album. Catchy, industrial, but mellow at the same time. Breakdown with an acoustic guitar strumming.
8. SHRED ENVY. Single. Solid industrial, metal, distorted guitar, screams in the background. I loved it, it has a similar energy to my favorite HEALTH’s track, DSM-V.
Existential lyrics.
9. YOU DIED. Single. Ballad-like track.
10. THOUGHT LEADER. Single. Muddy. Great.
About technology and screens.
11. DON’T KILL YOURSELF. Hard lyrics. Good guitar solo. Amazing track, it ends with Jake singing the last phrase a cappella, without music in the back, giving it depth.
12. WASTED YEARS. My favorite song on the album. Captivating melody. It has an 80s tone like synthpop but mixed with industrial sounds, totally genius.
Final Thoughts
Bleak and depressing lyrics, which are elevated by the unstoppable crushing music. Kickass album.
