The Band
ERRA is an American progressive metalcore band formed in 2009. They have released seven studio albums so far.
Their name is derived from Akkadian/Babylonian mythology, referring to the god of mayhem, chaos, war, and plague.
A blend of melodic, ethereal melodies and heavy, complex metalcore instrumentation characterizes their sound.

- Jesse Cash – guitar, clean vocals
- Clint Tustin – guitar

- Alex Ballew – drums, percussion

The Album
ERRA’s seventh studio album is silence outlives the earth. It was released on March 6, 2026.
The Songs
1. stelliform. The first track on the album is a strong opening.
Jesse sings softly, as always, in the choruses, and J.T. is harsh on the verses.
Chaotic, but in a good way, even in the choruses, except for the guitar lines that guide the progression of the song. A guitar that is also left in isolation at times, and it sounds absolutely delightful.
2. further eden. This is the third single. It starts with Jesse singing. More upbeat. Then J.T. enters. Great track.
3. gore of being. This is the first single from this album. I like the beginning, musically, and then J.T. starts with his harsh vocals. Jesse follows at times. Catchy, perfect. One of my favorite songs on this work. Solid breakdown. The end has an exquisite, heaven-like epic vibe.
4. black cloud. It begins lovely, progressive with Jesse’s voice. The chorus has a pop feel, very nice. It has the potential to attract new fans. It navigates loss and grief.
5. cicada siren. Heavier. It takes you out of the smooth, soft vibe of the previous song. A headbanging banger. It has a mini breakdown to end the track.
6. echo sonata. This is the second single. Another one of my favorites. Just beautiful. Guitar work is gorgeous. Good breakdown.
7. lucid threshold. I love it. It has an ethereal style, just as its name and its lyrics, like a pleasant dream.
8. spiral (of liminal infinity). Another favorite of mine. The guitar sound makes you float. A charming guitar solo, kind of jazz, just magical.
The next trilogy has a distinct shift in tone as it goes:
9. I. the many names of god. This is the fourth single. Djent. I like it. Strong with J.T.’s harsh vocals.
10. II. in the gut of the wolf. It’s the continuation of the previous song, just as heavy as that. J.T.’s on vocals. The guitar lines are amazing. Almost at the end, Jesse sings a little bit, and the song ends softly with his voice.
11. III. twilight in the reflection of dreams. The last part of the trio and also the last song. It has a mellow tone, engaging, with Jesse singing the majority of the time. A beautiful way to end the album.
Final Thoughts
ERRA’s previous album, Cure (2024), is one of my favorite albums ever. You can read my review here: Album Review_ERRA – Cure
silence outlives the earth’s lyrics are about hopelessness, introspection, and the sounds that go with them are amazing. I like it very much. The music goes from heavy and strong moments to gorgeous, melodic, and complex passages. Djent guitars, with solid bass and drums that lead the tracks, along with the contrasting voices of both vocals.
I don’t know Jesse Cash’s whole work, yet what I’ve listened to so far, I can honestly say that he has become one of my favorite guitarists ever. He gives me the impression of being very influenced by blues guitarists in his way of playing, with so much feeling and soul, it kind of reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughan, that’s why I like him so much. Also, I love his voice, very sweet.
Back to the album, I think this new work is a serious contender for Album of the Year, for me. Even though I haven’t listened to it so much yet, I already find it very special and lovely, so I can only imagine that feeling will grow throughout the year.
