The German power metal machine, Blind Guardian, came back for their fourth time to Santiago, Chile, Teatro Caupolicán. Bringing with them a great show on November 14h, 2023. This event was to promote their twelfth studio album, The God Machine, released on September 2nd, 2023 (you can read my album review here). The evening started with Enigma, a Chilean heavy metal band, that gave a solid set. At 21.00 was the main course,…

The Singer Dorothee Pesch, known in the music world as Doro Pesch or just Doro, is a German heavy metal singer and the former singer of the German heavy metal band Warlock. She started her musical career in a time when metal wasn’t very women-friendly, the 80s. Women in rock had to have an overly sexualized image to appeal to a mainly man-dominated audience. But Doro never accepted that, and she kept true to…

I knew that this day would come… and see Mike Portnoy return to his band, Dream Theater. Today, October 25, 2023, is that day, so I couldn’t be more happy. Dream Theater, the American progressive metal band, formed in 1985, whose original name was Majesty, consisted of John Petrucci (guitars), John Myung (bass), and Mike Portnoy (drums). Then they were joined by their third vocalist James LaBrie and after some keyboard players, Jordan Rudess joined…
The Band The Rolling Stones is an English rock band formed in 1962. Since the passing of their drummer Charlie Watts, the band remains a three-member group, and the rest of the players are session musicians (Steve Jordan on drums), other musicians invited or themselves playing different instruments. These guys have been playing for 61 years, being the most longevity rock band, and for me, the best rock band ever. Band Members Mick Jagger –…
This week I bring, again, Liv Kristine, but collaborating with a classic metal band, Cradle of Filth. The Band Cradle of Filth is an English metal band, formed in 1991. Currently, she is in Midnattsol with her sister, Carmen Elise Espenæs. She also has her solo career and has collaborated with many other bands and artists through the years. The Singer Alannah Myles, Canadian singer. Her biggest hit is Black Velvet, she won a Grammy for Best Female Rock Performance and a Juno Award for it. She had it all (voice and looks) to be a successful artist. Even though she had a couple of other hits, the singer did not receive a lot of money, due to bad negotiations with her record company at that time, Atlantic Records, so she was always struggling…
