Three Days Grace is a Canadian post-grunge/alternative rock band, formed in 1992.

In 2024, Adam officially rejoined the band with Matt also remaining as a singer, making them a dual-vocalist band, similar to the Helloween situation.

The Album
Alienation is the eighth studio album of Three Days Grace. It was released on August 22, 2025.
It is the first album since the return of the original singer, Adam Gontier, and since they became a dual-vocalist band with Matt Walst.
The Songs
1. Dominate. The music starts strong. Catchy and anthemic chorus. Good guitar solo.
It’s a song to hype you up, even when everything else doesn’t.
2. Apologies. Ballad, heartbreak song. The chorus goes hard. A breakdown with an acoustic guitar, nice touch.
3. Mayday. One of the singles on this album. Great song, musically as well as the lyrics, catchy chorus, cool breakdown.
It compares the current state of the world with a flight emergency.
4. Kill Me Fast. Nice ballad about breaking up.
5. In Waves. I liked this song a lot. It’s about missing an ex-partner, yet it has a heavier chorus.
6. Alienation. The title track. Amazing, rocker. It was a single on the album, too. It’s about isolation.
7. Never Ordinary (featuring Lindsey Stirling). Pretty ballad. Lindsey is an American violinist and singer. She provides a gorgeous atmosphere to the song when she sings and plays violin. About finding somebody and being outcasts together.
8. Deathwish. It starts solid, heavy, with some electronic elements. Fine breakdown and guitar solo. About living in the moment.
9. Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight. Lovely ballad. I like the acoustic guitar.
10. In Cold Blood. Rocker, hooky, splendid breakdown. About a toxic relationship.
11. The Power. Big, rocker, catchy. Deals with that feeling when someone has so much power over you in a relationship, and you don’t want that anymore, so you take your power back.
12. Another Relapse. The last song. A power ballad about Adam’s addictions. Fantastic guitar riff.
What I liked about this track was that even though it has a melancholic vibe, it’s heavier. A rocker song but filled with feeling.
Final Thoughts
Ballads, heavy songs, powerful riffs, and some electronic elements. Two singers.
Great quality songs about relationships and some internal struggles like dealing with drug abuse and addictions, and dealing with the problems that we’re facing now as humanity. Good work.
